The Future is back, the Maison Margiela sneaker made iconic by Kanye West

Presented for the first time in the Spring/Summer 2011 collection, the Future quickly became a cult object for its avant-garde design and clean aesthetic. The shoe, characterized by soft and futuristic lines, stands out for the absence of visible laces and for the typical upper band that wraps the upper, creating a sculptural and minimalist silhouette.

Kanye West collaborated with Maison Margiela to create the “Future” sneaker, worn during the 2014 Yeezus tour. This collaboration led to the creation of various models, including some limited editions in pony hair released in 2014 and which have become iconic. On that occasion, the Maison created exclusive outfits for Kanye West's tour, reinterpreting archives and iconic elements of the brand to reflect the rapper's vision.

When Kanye West and Maison Martin Margiela embarked on their creative journey together, the result was nothing less than legendary.

The Maison's avant-garde aesthetic intertwines perfectly with Kanye's visionary approach, culminating in a sneaker that transcends footwear and has become a symbol of exclusivity and innovation.

Originally reserved for Kanye himself, Maison Margiela's pony hair sneakers made their retail debut in August 2014, winning the hearts of sneaker enthusiasts everywhere.

Now the Future is back, but in its return, Maison Margiela has kept its essence intact: mid-top cut, hidden closure, overlapping panels and monochromatic finish.

The Future is available from October 4th in selected stores and online.
