Puscifer announces new album, 'Normal Isn't'

The band returns with the single “Self Evident” and collaborations with Danny Carey and Tony Levin.

Puscifer announces the release of his fifth studio album, Normal Isn'tavailable February 6, 2026 via Puscifer Entertainment/Alchemy Recordings/BMGand presents the first preview, “Self Evident”. Along with the announcement, the band confirmed a North American tour that will take place next year.

Normal Isn't marks the first work of Puscifer in more than five years, after Existential Reckoning (2020). Regarding the direction of the new album, Maynard James Keenan commented: “We're going back to our early influences. It's where goth meets punk. It's where I come from.”

The co-vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Carina Round He added: “In Pusciferany idea can be transformed without attachments. There is a kind of shared madness that keeps us creating in sync.”

The album was co-produced by Matt Mitchellwho explained that the group went for a rawer, more aggressive energy: “We took off the safety rails and let the guitars guide the direction.”

In addition to the main trio, Normal Isn't includes the participation of Greg Edwards, Gunnar Olsen and Sarah Jonesalong with notable collaborations from Danny Carey (Tools) in “Seven One”, Tony Levin (King Crimson) in “Normal Isn't” and “Seven One”and Ian Ross —father of Atticus Ross (Nine Inch Nails)—in the narration of “Seven One”.

About the title, Keenan explained: Normal Isn't It reflects the times in which we live. As artists, our job is to observe, interpret and report what we see, and what we see around us is far from normal.”

The video clip of “Self Evident”directed by Matt Mitchell and Maria Aceves Diegowas filmed during the band's performance at the Exchange LA last August, where Puscifer performed the entire album for the first time.
