The Twilight Sad release new single Waiting For The Phone Call with Robert Smith of The Cure on guitar.
A passionate autobiographical story that describes a phone call you never want to receive.
Commenting on the song, singer and songwriter James Graham states:
Waiting For The Phone Call is about pain, love and mental illness. These things took over my life and I became ill. I lost the most important person to me in the cruelest way possible. I have always used writing as a way to process and deal with my emotions, but they became a problem and I couldn't control them. Writing music with Andy… especially over the last seven years has been both an escape and an opportunity to process and try to make sense of life. We have all been waiting for a phone call that could change our lives. Unfortunately this song is about a phone call that no one would ever want to receive.”

Today The Twilight Sad also announce a UK and European tour in April and May 2026, which will include a performance at London's Roundhouse. This will be followed by some dates as special guests of The Cure in June and July. Robert Smith has been one of The Twilight Sad's biggest supporters over the past decade, taking the band on tour with The Cure, covering their songs and including The Twilight Sad in the line-up of his Meltdown Festival in 2018.
