The Game has been trying to scam emerging artists for years
The Game, a few days ago wrote on his Instagram profile: “I'm looking for 5 Italian artists to collaborate with. DM me if you're ready“.
Some emerging rappers came forward, only to later realize that it was a scam.
“The Game has been scamming up-and-coming rappers like this for years. He promises verses, asks you for money, and then disappears. Be careful“wrote Mattak, who shared his experience with the American rapper, publishing the chat between him and The Game, in which they discussed the figures for a possible collaboration (between 500 and 1000 euros), and that the exchange would take place via a bitcoin exchange platform. But, when he is asked to let the managers discuss the details, he disappears.
The same thing happened to Warez, who immediately understands the deception and offers to pay them 15 euros in Pokemon cards, obviously The Game disappears.
But there were also those who fell for it and this is told by Ozymandias, who, in a video published on his Instagram profile, explains that The Game was paid on PayPal with the Friends and Family option and then either disappeared, or sent an audio file containing only his tag.
Having not found luck in Italy, The Game decided to aim for France and again on Instagram writes “I'm looking for the hardest artist in France, tag them below“.
The Game has certainly had financial problems for some time, in April he had to sell his villa in Calabasas, due to an old lawsuit, pardon the pun, which sees him accused of sexual harassment and sentenced to compensation of 7.1 million dollars. This obviously does not justify attempts to defraud emerging rappers, which among other things is not new for The Game, who for years has been trying to raise money at the expense of artists who are not yet famous.
In 2021, this activity of The Game, let's call it that, of promoting young artists had already emerged which immediately appeared rather suspicious.
Basically, many of those who had taken The Game's offer to collaborate with them immediately realized that it was a scam. The Game asked them for a sum ranging from 500 to 1000 dollars, like that asked of Italian rappers, but the platform chosen to publish the songs was SoundCloud, where The Game's account and his playlists had less than 300 followers, and more often than not the voice and verse promised by The Game and paid for by the unfortunate artists did not appear.
In short, it is a modus operandi that has been going on for years and who cares if it is The Game and if it is in dire financial straits, this is a scam that cannot find any justification.
