Diddy accuses Netflix of defamation over 'Sean Combs: The Reckoning' series
The series “Sean Combs: The Showdown”, co-produced by 50 Cent, was released yesterday on Netflix and Diddy's lawyers immediately took action and accused the platform of defamation.
According to what CNN reported, the documentary contains “stolen” material, the distribution of which has not been authorized. Specifically, a video, used in the trailer, in which Diddy, speaking to his lawyers, says “we need someone willing to work for us, who has experience in the dirtiest jobs in the industry”. This video would be part of a series of videos, which the rapper has been shooting and putting aside for years in anticipation of a documentary of his own about himself. Diddy's lawyers claim that Netflix misappropriated that video filmed by Diddy and did so in cahoots with 50 Cent, who is believed to be “a longtime adversary, who has spent far too much time vilifying Mr. Combs“.
In the formal notice, it is also underlined that “Mr. Combs does not hesitate to take legal action against the media and anyone else who violates his rights, and will not hesitate to do so against Netflix“.
