The series of twelve French dates by the French metal band Gojira was crowned with success, with more than 100,000 tickets sold.
Friday December 12, Gojira closed its 2025 French tour at the Zénith in Strasbourg. In 2025, all of their dates brought together more than 100,000 spectators. The French metal group therefore received the golden ticket trophy, in the presence of the Gérard Drouot Productions team, organizer of this tour. The editorial team was present on the Paris date of this series, in a sold-out Accor Arena, during which the public was able to appreciate the exceptional presence of Marina Viotti, who appears on the title “Mea Culpa (Ah! Ca Ira). » The latter also allowed the musicians to win their first Grammy Award.
This tour allowed the group to “cast a wide net to the four corners of our country” according to singer Joe Duplantier in an interview given to the editorial staff, on the cover of our n°178. “We spent ten years of our lives playing exclusively in France. In fact, we knew all the rooms in each city, such as the Music Cellar of Mâcon, the 4 Locks of Dunkirk or the Splendid of Lille…” A return to “native land” much appreciated afterwards “recognition linked to the Olympic Games. »
Gojira does not intend to rest on its laurels. Thus, they will be present for an exclusive French date at Heavy Weekend on June 6. Three other groups will be present during this day: Trivium, Cavalera (with a set based on the album Chaos AD de Sepultura) and Nova Twins. Sabaton and Electric Callboy are other headliners of this next edition. Places are available.
The French metal group is also present in our Voices of the Year selection, alongside Shirley Manson (Garbage), Bruce Springsteen and Trey Parker and Matt Stone (creators of the series South Park).
