I wrote and recorded the entire song in a few hours, which was basically the opposite of how I had been working on the computer. Spending hours moving waveforms around like a zombie, compiling vocals, hesitating, trying to make things not sound dead, trying to make something sound right, took me months. But here, on tape, it was much more vivid. More like painting or making a collage. More like making real music. Every move he made stuck like glue. It was very easy. “It was pure joy,” the musician wrote in a press release.
