Second evening. Serena Brancale, Fedez and Masini, Arisa, Fulminacci and Ditonellapie are the press room's favourites, at least after the first vote last night. But it is today that Sanremo comes to life, after a day in which we listened to the songs on headphones.
We will listen to half of the competing songs again this evening (the audience at home and the radio jury will vote) and our comments could change or remain those of yesterday. The number of plays, in fact, is the only way to give a reasoned judgement. Before the performances of the competing artists, there will be the start of the Sanremo Giovani competition.
And so here we are.
REPORT CARDS AND COMMENTS
15 – TONELLAPLIAGA “How annoying!”
Dito's straight case continues to work. It's not a nuisance but not a hallucination either. THEThe piece flows and entertains without pretentions. 7.00. Danceable.
14 – DARGEN D'AMICO “AI AI”
Dargen D'Amico falls within its natural territory: well-calibrated urban style, sharp lyrics and solid beat. Enough with electronic artifices, a recognizable voice and style are back. Almost 7.00. Regenerated.
13 – FEDEZ & MASINI “Necessary evil”
They will win, I know… though. Masini screams too much and Fedez does his usual rap homework. I really don't like the combo. I don't like the song, nothing new in the lyrics. Was it a necessary evil? rating 5.00
12 – LIGHTNING “Stupid bad luck”
Thunderbolts confirms the sensitivity and subtle irony that struck me upon first listening. Balanced melody, lively text, but the flash that transforms listening into electrocution is missing. 6.50. Inconclusive.
11 – NAYT “Before”
Nayt brings its own emotional density and talented writing. Difficult for the Ariston stage. The beat reminds me of Kanye West. 7.00 full!
10 – J-AX “Italy starter pack”
J-Ax you dressed up country as a tricolor festival. The hybrid is not very convincing, but the uncle has the skills and lights up the party with histrionic skill. Quick consumption folkpop. Low rating. Goliardic.
09 – CHIELLO “I always think of you”
The Dolls they show off stage presence and a voice that pierces the stage. Musically, however, the song smacks of already chewed pop-rock, reminiscences from Fashion polished again. 7.00 to them, 5.00 per piece. Stale.
07 – LEVANTE “It's you”
Intimate, whispered, delicate. Levante always manages to transport you into its world of relationships, loves and everyday life. On the second listen we like it more and more. 7.00 full both for her and for the song. Good!
06 – ERMAL META “Stella Stellina”
One of the best texts of this edition. The melody supported by an Arabian flavor gets lost in a dirge that struggles to have a strong impact. He doesn't convince me but he takes the 6.00 without any problems.
05 – ELETTRA LAMBORGHINI “Voilà”
She's super nice to me. fun and cheerful. The song can be listened to but is heavily empty. Long-cooking smash size… Voilà a nice 6.00 of encouragement.
04 – TOMMASO PARADISO “The romantics”
Thomas Paradise with Petrella And Simonetta replicates his own songbook. Take a random song from his repertoire and it's the same as this: same postcard melancholy, same emotional syntax. 8.00 for coherence, 5.00 for the song. Autocloned.
03 – ENRICO NIGIOTTI “Every time I don't know how to flyAnd”
Enrico Nigiotti defuses any suspicion: Pacifico's writing convinces, the orchestra does the rest. Not memorable, but solid. 6.90 a piece, 6.50 for him. I'm usually biased towards Nigiotti. This song rehabilitates that for me.
02 – LDA & AKA 7EVEN “Clandestine poems”
The two mix a pop full of Neapolitan reflections without friction or vision. The piece flows, evaporates, will be useful until August. 5.00 per piece, 6.50 per pair. Harmless
01 – PATTY PRAVO “Opera”
Patty Pravo in “Opera” he indulges in melodrama that adds nothing else to his discography. The voice holds up, the song doesn't. The 5.00 is to the song, the 8.00 to its irreducible and elegant presence.
