He Rock & Roll Hall of Fame has revealed its long-awaited list of nominees for the Class of 2026, presenting a selection that celebrates the vast and evolving history of music. The list, which fuses rock titans with pioneers of other essential genres, underscores the mission of honoring those whose music has left an indelible mark on global culture.
This edition highlights new eligibles, such as Shakira, Wu-Tang Clan, Lauryn Hill, P!NK, Jeff Buckley, Luther Vandross, INXS, Melissa Etheridge and New Edition. Phil Collins is nominated for his solo career, having previously been inducted with Genesis in 2010.
Other returning nominees include Iron Maiden and Mariah Careyrecognizing his impact on modern music. The nomination of Joy Division / New Order honors their continuing legacy in post punk and dance rock.
To qualify, an artist must have released their first commercial recording at least 25 years prior to the nomination. More than 1,200 industry experts (including inducted artists, historians and professionals) vote.
In addition, the public participates in the “Fan Voting” through the official website; The five most voted artists are added as an individual vote to the general tally.
The artists and bands selected for the Class of 2026 will be announced to the public in late April and the ceremony will take place during the fall.
