Serena Brancale, among the winners (almost announced in a whisper) with “Qui con me” of this Sanremo Festival.

Serena introduces herself like this, with a Bontempi piano, singing the song competing at the Festival. Another facet of his person and personality.

THE INTERVIEW

What emotions did you manage in writing the song?

I was experiencing great magic with “Anema e Core”. I stopped and thought that the only person I wanted to share it with, my mother, was no longer here. I forwarded the song to my sister, it's one thing to sing about celebration, it's another to sing about pain and talking about loss, which I'm doing and in some ways it's my therapy. When I proposed it to my sister, she wrote to me “Come on, let's do it together”.

Is it a return to the origins?

“Baccalà” and “Anema e Core” are part of me, last year was one of the most important years for me. I love light music. However, I also like to stop, put a point, close the circle. I thought I was alone but on Tuesday when I sang I received hugs from many. The love that comes to me is powerful”. I had another more gypsy song, but with “Qui con me” I freed myself. I feel stripped of all the frills and details. Even the color of my hair, I wanted to concentrate on the words.

Among the competing artists, who would you feel like collaborating with?

This year there are new voices like Sayf, that desire to play with images and words. I like the woman who shows Arisa, the mother who carries Levante. I like many personalities, I like Michele, Mara Sattei. I love Marco Masini and Fedez because it is a song very rich in meaning. I would collaborate with any of them.

Can you see the podium nearby?

I won on Tuesday because I brought a letter to my mother with my sister present.

How does this piece fit into your colorful repertoire?

In my concerts there are various moments, there is also space for ballads. I needed a moment of reflection. It's another step in my experimentation. Experimentation starts from within, “Here with me” starts from my internal need, then the aesthetic revolution also arrived. When I wrote it I still had Decrescenzo in mind. I like to mix many genres and be more and more me.

Has the journey up to this evening lived up to your expectations?

I keep my concentration high, I cried a few times, I would have kept my smile more. I said to myself if it happens don't be ashamed, it's nice even if there is a liberating cry like the one at the end of the first evening's performance.

What if I could talk to you about your first Sanremo?

Give yourself time, wonderful things will happen if you are ready to welcome.
