The Swedish-Argentine singer-songwriter Jose Gonzalez has released his new single, “A Perfect Storm”. This is the second preview of their anticipated fifth studio album, Against the Dying of the Lightwhich is scheduled for release on March 27 via Mute Records and City Slang.

“A Perfect Storm” It is a piece that capturesto the tension of modern life,clanging the concept of progress with existential anxiety. His musical inspiration lies in live rhythms, desert blues and post hardcore. The song criticizes blind faith in innovation and limitless advancement, making reference to Max Tegmark to question the ethics of this development.

Their fifth studio album, marking their first collection of original songs in over four years, was announced in early 2026. This release coincided with the premiere of its title track, “Against the Dying of the Light”, along with its official video, directed by Fredrik Egerstrand.
