They're reselling the Louis Vuitton hazelnut spread for $2,000

Louis Vuitton has launched an ultra-limited edition hazelnut and chocolate spread, created in collaboration with master pastry chef Maxime Frédéric, who runs Le Chocolat Maxime Frédéric at Louis Vuitton and who in 2025 was voted best pastry chef in the world.

The hazelnut spread, available only in two Louis Vuitton boutiques in Europe in Paris (Place Vendôme) and London (New Bond Street), was sold at a price ranging from €35 to €50.

But such limited availability meant that it sold like hotcakes and created the hype effect and subsequent resell, so much so that the jars are now on sale on eBay at crazy prices reaching up to 2,000 dollars.

The spread is not just hype, it is made with hazelnuts from Piedmont, mixed with single origin cocoa, but this certainly cannot be enough to justify such a high resell price, yet there are dozens of users on eBay who are showing interest in the LV spread.

This is a sign that Louis Vuitton manages to transform even food into a status symbol.
