Review: SNOOP DOGG “10 Til' Midnight”

Reviews

Having given up the role of the Olympic mascot good for the guests as a torchbearer, the memes and the curling public, Snoop returns to mark the territory and with “10 Til' Midnight” he makes it clear that he still has the keys to the game.

Fourteen tracks which are the fourth chapter built under the banner of his Death Row label: here we don't joke, we go back to eating pure G-funk even if perhaps a little cloned and re-cloned.

Behind the machines are heavyweights like Swizz Beatz, Pharrell and Erick Sermon, people who know how to make a beat sound nostalgic without it sounding like an antique, but an instant classic.

Snoop's flow slides between the feats of Trinidad James and October London with the ease of those who invented the game, a question of blood and asphalt.

Pieces like Stop Counting My Pockets are declarations of war on boredom, stuff that serves to remind today's kids that charisma cannot be bought with followers, while in songs like QTSAMYAH (Quit Talking Shit And Make You A Hit), Snoop's soft style is a declaration that there is always only him!

Snoop may be preparing for retirement, but he's doing so by reminding everyone who owns the block. The consolidation of a boss status that doesn't have to apologize to anyone.

No beating around the bush, no paraculate: this is the sound of the West Coast taking back what's its own, right in your face, no discounts.
The only doubt is to understand whether the new generations prefer him more as a tik tok meme rather than as a boss!
