The Australian band Airborne is back with an extremely moving musical announcement. After six years of waiting, the group led by the brothers O'Keeffe returns to the scene with his next studio album, titled Airbornewhich will have 12 songs and will be available on August 28 through Spinefarm.
What makes this return so special is that the news was announced through a letter addressed to the deceased Lemmy Kilmisterleader of Motörhead. In it, the group recounts the arduous process of creating this material and how the legendary musician's words, about staying true to themselves, were the impetus to not give up. Thus, this new self-titled album promises to reaffirm their identity inside hard rock contemporaneous.
As a preview, the quartet presented “Alive After Death (Last Plane Out)”a single that encapsulates the spirit of the album and also pays tribute to legends of the genre such as Lemmy, Bon Scott (AC/DC) and John Bonham (Led Zeppelin). The song revolves around the idea that music transcends death, using these icons as a reference, since thanks to their legacy they continue to be present.
In order to finish this material, the group faced different obstacles, from hurricanes to encounters with snakes in a remote studio in Australia, until reaching the final sessions at the emblematic hothouse in Melbourne. The result promises to be the most honest and raw work of his career, in which Airborne shows that it continues to be one of the references of the genre.
