“Everything I wanted to be”, the latest from Las Robertas

Music news

A single that reflects on identity, expectations and acceptance.

The Robertas is back with “Everything I wanted to be”the first preview of his next album titled All we need is nowwhich will premiere on June 26 through Spinda Records and Kanine Recordsand will be made up of nine songs.

The Costa Rican group presents this song with a more introspective rhythm, but without losing the psychedelic essence that has defined the project since its beginnings, since it is accompanied by enveloping guitars, dense atmospheres and a wink consistingnte to shoegaze and p90s psychedelia, reminiscent of bands like Primal Scream, Ride either The Brian Jonestown Massacremaking it clear that its identity continues to evolve without forgetting its roots.

With “Everything I wanted to be”the quintet achieves a piece that stands out for its emotional charge. It is a statement about the search for identity and personal fulfillment, where the desire to achieve an idealized version of oneself is expressed; However, there is also the need to reconcile with what one once dreamed of being and, on the other hand, accept that not everything always happens as planned.

The premiere did not come alone, as it is accompanied by a video directed by Blancx Weapon (Juan Alvarez Santos), which works as a complement to what the lyrics express, being an introspective journey about maturity and the process of self-acceptance, where various facets of the same person converge to find peace in the present. With this new release, The Robertas begins a stage that promises to bring with it a mix of 90s alternative rock with a contemporary sensibility.
