Foo Fighters delivered live, and for the very first time, two tracks from their new album Your Favorite Toybecoming the first American musical guest of Saturday Night Live UKthe British version of the famous NBC show.
The day after the release of their new album and on the eve of the launch of their tour, Dave Grohl and his band stopped by the London show to give the first live performance of “Caught in the Echo” And “Child Actor”.
By inviting themselves onto the set of the fifth episode of SNL UK, the Foo Fighters also became the very first Americans to occupy the slot of musical guest of the British show. Before them: Wet Leg, Kasabian, Wolf Alice and Jorja Smith. British singer Meek will take over next week.
But Dave Grohl wasn't content with just the performances: he also made a surprise appearance in host Nicola Coughlan's opening monologue – alongside Jimmy Fallon, another mystery guest of the evening – and appeared in one of the episode's sketches.
Released last Friday, Your Favorite Toy is Foo Fighters' debut album with drummer Ilan Rubin. On April 28, the band will open its tour at the Total Mortgage Arena in Bridgeport, Connecticut, before two festival dates in May at Welcome to Rockville in Daytona Beach and BottleRock in Napa, California. After a European stop in June and July, the North American stadium tour kicks off on August 4 in Toronto and ends on September 26 in Las Vegas, with a headliner at Bourbon & Beyond in Louisville along the way.
