“Central Reservation Blues” is the single that marks the beginning of this stage.

Laurie Vincent begins a new stage far from Soft Play (previously known as slaves). The British musician introduced big truckhis new project, which explores more introspective sounds. This announcement also comes accompanied by the release of his debut single, “Central Reservation Blues”a song that advances the tone of his next album.

big truck is made up of Sam Coppins on the battery, Asa Thallon on the guitar and Justin Myles on the keyboards, who provide a sound mix that refers to indie britannic from the 80s and to heartland rock United States. With this new proposal, Laurie bets on a different sensibility, more melancholic and reflective.

With “Central Reservation Blues”, big truck presents a theme that is born from a feeling of guilt. According to Vincentthe song refers to having missed important moments with his family due to the demands of touring, becoming a reflection on the cost of prioritizing work life over personal life within the music industry.

The single is also accompanied by a video directed by Jude Harrisonin which the group is shown in a field along with their instruments. Furthermore, this release works as the first preview of a debut album recorded in just four days in Marshall Studio. With this first single, the band makes it clear that they are not seeking to repeat formulas, but rather present a more introspective proposal, but just as honest.
