David Byrneformer leader of Talking Headsreleased his new single, “What is the reason?”a reinvention of its theme “What Is The Reason For It?” from his album Who Is The Sky?. This version stands out for the change of language and the collaboration of the Mexican singer-songwriter Natalia Lafourcadewinner of the Grammywho replaces the original vocalist, Hayley Williams of Paramoreproviding a distinctive Latin touch.
He remix pop with Latin influences was produced by Camilo Lara of the Mexican Institute of Sound (IMS). Under his direction, the song became an energetic, pulsating track that highlights the vocal harmonies of Byrne and L.afourcadeand a powerful brass section with tropical orchestral resonances and big band.
This successful collaboration is inspired by the fascination of David Byrne through Mexico City. The musician based his lyrics on his experiences in the capital, which investigates love and its mysteries. The result is a single that fuses cultures and pays tribute to CDMX, promising to impact the English-speaking and Latino audiences.
