The single is a cinematic journey through Hollywood that closes the era of From The Pyre.
After the launch of From The Pyre (2025), The Last Dinner Party presents “Knocking At The Sky”a single that functions as the closing of this musical stage, which expanded thanks to the edition deluxe released on July 9, 2026, maintaining the theatrical and cinematographic essence that has distinguished the group since its inception.
According to the group, “Knocking At The Sky” was created with the aim of presenting a mythological and dark version of Los Angeles. The idea starts from taking Hollywood, an emblematic site of entertainment that is usually portrayed as the place to achieve success, to transform it into a setting where ambition plays a central role, within a story in which different characters seek to become protagonists of a scenario that is as fascinating as it is disturbing.
Musically, the single preserves the band's characteristic drama and is accompanied by a sound that fuses art rock with baroque pop, reinforcing the sound identity that the project has built since Prelude to Ecstasy (2024) and which continued exploring in From The Pyre (2025), his second study material. With this, it maintains the combination of glamour, mythology and criticism that distinguishes the group from other proposals.
The release is accompanied by a video recorded in Los Angeles and directed by Sinclair Bryantwhich also pays tribute to film divas noir. The production incorporates references to Hollywood film noir, the films slasher and the universe of John Watersexpanding the narrative concept of this stage and consolidating it as one of the most risky, theatrical and captivating that the band has presented so far.
