The single is part of the collaborative album The Pulse Of Atoms.
The union of voices, genres and artists has resulted in unforgettable productions, and now this is the case of Dave Lombardo and Lustmordwho join in “Paleomagnetic Resonance”a single that is part of their next collaborative album titled The Pulse of Atomsmaterial that will be released this October 2 under Ipecac Recordings.
“Paleomagnetic Resonance” is the first preview of this collaboration, which presents a sound that mixes dark ambient with experimental electronics, resulting in a song that creates a feeling of tension and guides the listener towards a journey into the depths, resulting in a disturbing piece that prioritizes sensation and space.
The project, named Lustmord Lombardoemerged backstage during a Fantômas concert, when Lustmord worked alongside Melvins. After almost two decades, that connection became a formal project that unites Lustmorda fundamental figure within the dark ambient, and Dave Lombardodrummer known for being part of Slayer and Mr. Bunglein a material that moves away from metal to incorporate structures with denser atmospheres and electronic sounds.
With “Paleomagnetic Resonance”, Lustmord Lombardo opens the door to an experimental and dark album, since, for Lustmordthe objective of the album is to escape from labels and a specific musical era, with the intention of building a sound that cannot necessarily be identified as something current, from the past or the future, but as something much older and cosmic.
