Are there still those who hope for Marra and Guè’s Santeria 2?
Marra and Guè are celebrating 30 years of friendship, 20 of their career and 10 of Santeria, which can easily be defined as the favorite joint album of Italian rap lovers, now a sort of cult.
As they prepare to bring the album and their greatest collaborations back to the stage of the San Siro Hippodrome on Saturday and Sunday, there are those who are hoping for an announcement: Santeria 2.
It is said that hope is the last to die, but it is also said that those who live hoping die taking a shit. Yet hope brought good luck to Dogo fans, who after 10 years managed to see their reunion, but this time it won’t happen.
For the 10 years of Santeria there will not be a second chapter, but a single, Casini, out on September 9th. It is, as Marra and Guè wrote on Instagram, “just one new song, a unique gift on the occasion of the double live show in Milan. For the avoidance of doubt, there will be this single, not Santeria 2. There will be no announcement of a hypothetical new joint album during the live shows.
Among other things, on paper, Casini is very promising. Produced by Marz, “Casini” samples “Gangsta’s Paradise” by Coolio, a legendary song from the international urban repertoire, for the rest it is the lyrics of the song that speak in which Marra and Guè unleash their style and their flow at maximum power.
