Interview with Gepe

Interviews

The future is for the taking.

For Geperevisiting the past is a way of pointing towards the future. In his most recent album, the Chilean musician returns to compositions from different stages of his career to discover how alive they remain, far from nostalgia and the need to reproduce what they once were. These songs, when going through new forms of interpretation and experimentation, take on another dimension, as if they were written for the first time.

This 2026, the Chilean musician arrives with a fairly clear idea: those ideas that remain can be redefined. Between unexpected crossovers of his own compositions, explorations of Chilean folklore and a constant search for new beginnings, the album Gold It is one of the most special proposals of the year.

In an interview, we spoke with Gepe about the exercise of re-recording songs already made, the influence of traditional Chilean music and the need to understand each album as the beginning of something new.
