Calva Louise explores her roots in “The Promise”

Music news

The single explores internal conflicts and personal decisions.

Bald Louise is back with “The Promise”single released through Mascot Records which continues to expand the band’s sonic universe by exploring internal conflicts and decisions that can change the course of life. Furthermore, the song combines Spanish and French, expanding the creative universe that the group has built throughout its history.

With “The Promise”the project integrated by Jess Allanic, Alizon Taho and Ben Parker presents a piece that incorporates the cultural roots of the members, coming from Venezuela, France and New Zealand, respectively. This is reflected in a mix of elements of alternative rock, metal and electronica, along with influences from Venezuelan joropo, also known as llanera music.

According to Allanic, “The Promise” addresses that feeling of being driven by invisible forces that manage to motivate us to move forward, but that can also become empty promises capable of fueling obsessions and delusions. Furthermore, the song poses a dilemma between choosing a difficult path to act on our own convictions or ignoring the consequences of our decisions by taking the easier way out.

The launch is accompanied by a video written and directed by Allanicwho was also in charge of the special effects. Faithful to its independent philosophy, Bald Louise He recorded the song with his own equipment, except for the drums, which were recorded at The Ranch Recording Studio in the south of England. For its part, mixing and mastering were in charge of Jeff Dunneknown for his work with bands such as Knocked Loose.
