Life-Support-LP-Vinyl-Artwork-2026
The original soundtrack of “Life Support” is available, the documentary directed by Daniele Rugo which tells the story of the work of a team of doctors working in Gaza.
The producers of the film are in charge of the musical project together with 3D, the stage name of Robert Del Naja of Massive Attack.
The vinyl, consisting of 13 tracks, donates all proceeds from sales to the Health Workers 4 Palestine solidarity fund.
The publication brings together original compositions signed by Del Naja and the musician Habib Shehada Hanna, alongside songs made available by artists who have chosen to contribute to the project. Names involved include Yasmine Hamdan, Kneecap, 47Soul, Massar Egbari, Aar Maanta, Siba and Monkyman. The selection also includes The Five Techniques, a group that brings together Paul Weller, David Holmes and RóisÃn El Cherif.
Music thus takes on a function that goes beyond the purely cinematic dimension: to accompany the story without attenuating its harshness and concretely supporting the work of healthcare workers. A choice that reflects the nature of Life Support, a documentary built around two years of medical activity in the Strip, in extreme conditions.
Directed by Daniele Rugo and narrated by Denise Gough, an actress also known for her role in the Andor series, set in the Star Wars universe, the film follows healthcare workers as they face daily emergencies and a healthcare system under devastating pressure. In the absence of international journalists authorized to enter the Strip, the doctors’ work also takes on a testimonial dimension, bringing what is happening on the field to public attention.
Making its world premiere at Sheffield DocFest 2026, Life Support earned a nomination at the British Independent Film Awards (BIFA). The documentary is currently released in UK cinemas and is available to stream through Curzon, Apple TV, Prime Video and YouTube.
For 3D, involvement in the project represented an artistic and human responsibility. Music, he explained, tries to accompany the indirect experience of the realities experienced by volunteer and civilian doctors, giving back space to the resilience of the people involved without transforming pain into simple spectacular matter.
3D (Robert Del Naja – Massive Attack): «Considering the scope and rawness of Life Support, receiving the invitation to compose music capable, in some way, of enriching the indirect experience of the devastating realities experienced by volunteer doctors and civilians in Gaza was a source of profound humility. We hope that the variety of compositions can help navigate this emotional labyrinth, while highlighting the extraordinary human spirit and resilience demonstrated by the film’s protagonists.”
With this publication, the soundtrack also becomes a tool of concrete support: the entire proceeds from vinyl sales will be donated to Health Workers 4 Palestine, a fund dedicated to solidarity with Palestinian healthcare workers.
