Glasvegas explores his flaws in “Degüello”

Music news

The single anticipates the sound and concept behind their next album.

Glasvegas is back after six years of silence with Airy Fairyalbum that will be released on April 2, 2027 through Modern Sky UK. The news came accompanied by the launch of “Degüello”, single that marks the beginning of a new stage for the Scottish band.

With “Disgorgement”the project integrated by James Allen in voice and production, Rabbi Allan on the guitar and Paul Donoghue in the bass, presents an advance that preserves the characteristic intensity of Glasvegas. Through the lyrics, the band explores personal conflicts, the recognition of one’s own flaws and the possibility of changing to become a better version of oneself.

The title of track comes from a word that Allen heard in an old movie and that, over time, he began to relate to aspects of his personality that he does not always like, such as bad mood and irritability. However, far from stopping at the recognition of these traits, the song reflects his interest in changing and working on himself.

For its part, the meaning of Airy Fairy It is also linked to the personal history of Allen. This expression was used to describe him as someone distracted or dreamy, an adjective that he came to reject, but that over the years he learned to accept as part of his identity. Now, the musician returns to that idea to name an album that will show how personal experiences can become a source of inspiration.
