The Locus Festival turns 20 and celebrates with a 2024 edition that promises to be even more surprising than the previous ones.
A very rich program is taking shape, to celebrate the history of a festival that was able to bring the best of national and international music to Puglia.
The Locus is an unmissable musical journey with a thousand sonic nuances which in 2024 will begin with an intense three days in Bari in June, then continue in July with a series of special concerts across Puglia and finally culminate in August in the splendor of Masseria Ferragnano at the gates of Locorotondo, jewel of the Itria Valley and historic heart of the festival.
THE TWENTIETH EDITION
The path of the twentieth edition begins to take shape with the first names announced: it starts from Bari with the great return on June 28th of a now cult artist like Calcutta with the highly anticipated new album “Relax”, and on June 29th with two heavyweights of the Italian rap scene, Salmo & Noyz Narcos, on the tour following the release of the joint album “CVLT”. And again, again in Bari on June 29th, the magnetic Irish singer-songwriter, guitarist and actor Glen Hansard presents his new album “All That Was East Is West Of Me Now”, while on June 30th the legendary Simple Minds arrive with their Global Tour, in which they will mix the songs from their latest album with their great unforgettable classics.
And then space for a world-class band that has played on over 5000 albums (including Michael Jackson’s Thriller) and with over 200 nominations for the Grammy Awards: Toto, in concert in Ostuni on 22 July. In Fasano on July 27th on stage a legend of the great American black music, one of the most influential and iconic jazz/funk bassists in the world: Marcus Miller.
The first guests announced in Locorotondo are equally exciting: the traditional week of consecutive events at the farm begins on 7 August with the return of the much-loved New Zealanders Fat Freddy’s Drop and ends on 14 August for an exceptional pre-August holiday with the incredible “techno marching band ” by Meute, while on August 12th the legendary King of Rap NAS arrives from New York on his only Italian date.
And it is the famous American rapper who inspired the claim of the 2024 edition, IT WAS WRITTEN, which is the title of his fundamental second album.
