Music news

A new chapter for the band.

The iconic emo band, American Footballhas excited his followers by officially confirming the details of his long-awaited fourth studio album. Concisely titled as LP4the new album material is scheduled for release on may 1 and will be distributed once again through the record label Polyvinyl.

This advertisement continues its prolific stage after LP3 (2019) and LP2 (2016), the latter marking his triumphant return after 17 years since his acclaimed 1999 self-titled debut, known as LP 1.

The release of the material is promoted with the lead single, “Bad Moons”. The song encapsulates the band's distinctive sound: intricate guitar melodies, dynamic rhythms, immersive atmospheric effects and smooth, confessional vocals. The leader Mike Kinsella declared that “Bad Moons” it was a composition they had been “conserving.” He explained that the song emerged from the experimental fusion of two pre-existing and opposite demos: one “playful”, with children's sounds and toy pianos, and another “melancholic”, with screeching guitars and powerful drums. The mixture of childish joy and adult melancholy is the key to its uniqueness.
