BTS' new album 'Arirang' is finally available

After five and a half years of waiting, the South Korean group is making its comeback with a fifth studio album, a free concert broadcast on Netflix and an 82-date world tour.

BTS's fifth studio album, Arirangis finally available. For five and a half years, the members of the group have each worked on solo projects and/or completed their mandatory military service in South Korea. But the septet is back in force: in addition to the 14 tracks of the album, the group unveils a clip for the song “Swim”.

Starting March 21, BTS will hold a free concert in Seoul's Gwanghwamun Square, broadcast live on Netflix. On March 23, the group will perform in the United States for the first time in almost four years, as part of the Spotify x BTS: SWIMSIDE event, in front of 1,000 fans in New York. A documentary, BTS: The Returnwill arrive on Netflix on March 27. Then, starting April 9, BTS will embark on an 82-date world tour scheduled through March 2027. Screenings of two concerts, titled BTS World Tour 'Arirang' Live Viewing, will take place on April 11 (from Goyang, South Korea) and April 18 (from Tokyo).

Two months of living together in Los Angeles

To record the album, RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V and Jung Kook all moved to Los Angeles, where they lived together for two months — a first since 2019. Writers and producers include Pdogg, Diplo, Kevin Parker (Tame Impala), Flume, JPEGMAFIA, Mike WiLL Made-It, Ryan Tedder (OneRepublic), El Guincho and Teezo Touchdown.

A deeply personal album

The band said the album was very personal. “Drawing inspiration from the emotional depth of 'Arirang' — its sense of nostalgia, loss, and the ebb and flow of life — the group ultimately chose the title for its strong resonance with their current journey.”they said in a press release. “This new album explores universal emotions of nostalgia and love, and will resonate with global audiences as a timeless legacy across generations and cultures. »
