“Chance and Lance”, the new release from El David Aguilar

Music news

A tribute to crucial creative mentorship.

David Aguilarone of the most honest singer-songwriters on the Mexican music scene, has just given us a new piece that feels like an open diary. It is about “Chance and Lance”a song that functions as a deep introspection about his creative process and the nomadic life inherent to his profession as a composer.

Endless trips and tours to new corners—with their respective stories, silences, and laughter—are the essential elements that nourish his creative process. The song is, at its core, an ode to the inspiration found along the way that shapes both his writing and his melodies.

Besides, “Chance and Lance” carries a very personal importance for The David. This song marks a milestone as it was co-written with the musician and producer Mauri Ele Huexformerly known as Mauricio Diaz “The Bone”.

I am very happy to work with him. Mauri made the music and I wrote the lyrics, although in the end we both gave each other feedback to improve it. “This symbiosis resulted in a piece that has a lot of bohemianism, but also movement and contemplation,” the musician said in a press release.
