Earl Sweatshirt, MIKE and SURF GANG share “Leadbelly”

Music news

A new preview of their collaborative album.

The creative universe of Earl Sweatshirt, Mike and the collective SURF GANG continues to expand. On this occasion, the artists present “Leadbelly”a new preview of POMPEII // UTILITYtheir long-awaited collaborative double album that will arrive on April 3 under the labels 10k, Tan Cressida and SURF GANG Records.

After having presented “Minty” and “Earth”the first singles from the project, the new track reinforces the chemistry they have built over the years. In “Leadbelly”the dense and frenetic bases created by SURF GANG serve as a basis for earl and Mike They provide a thoughtful, raw and nuanced approach.

With POMPEII // UTILITYthe musicians deliver material that is born from a friendship that dates back to 2016. The album is structured conceptually, where POMPEII represents the sonic vision of Mikewhile UTILITY is dedicated to exploring the aesthetics of Earl Sweatshirt. This proposal allows each artist to develop their own universe without losing the collaborative thread, all sustained by the chaotic and dynamic production of the collective.

The album's premiere will be accompanied by a series of presentations, including some secret shows in Los Angeles, New York and London. In addition, Mexico will also be able to listen to this material live, since Mike and earl will be presented this April 24 at the Indie Rocks Forum!.

Stay tuned for Indie Rocks! for more details.
