Foo Fighters unveil “Spit Shine”, zombie music video directed by Dave Grohl

Foo Fighters unveils Spit Shinea clip written and directed by Dave Grohl where a zombie attack turns a concert into a bloodbath — gory preview of their 12th album Your Favorite Toy.

Foo Fighters strike the balance between zombie attack and mosh pit in new music video Spit Shinetitle taken from their latest album Your Favorite Toy.

Dave Grohl wrote and directed this gloomy and bloody clip, which opens with the warning of an alert system: “This is not a test – a viral outbreak has occurred. It is extremely contagious and potentially fatal. Stay indoors, don't panic.” The camera then switches to the Foo Fighters, dressed in immaculate white, in concert in front of an ecstatic audience, also in impeccable white. (The clip was cast by Grohl's daughter Harper.)

Obviously, these outfits provide the perfect canvas for the carnage that ensues. While the Foo Fighters tear up Spit Shinea horde of zombies descends on the concert and orchestrates a wildly excessive massacre. The entrails are devoured, the blood spurts, and yet the moshing never seems to stop.

Not really a surprise that Grohl chose a zombie music video: the musician is a big horror fan, and he had already starred in and written the story of the horror comedy Studio 666 (2022, where the rest of the Foo Fighters also appeared). In an interview with WECB When the film was released, Grohl explained how one of his favorite horror films was linked to his punk-rock youth.

Foo Fighters released Your Favorite Toy last week — it's their 12th studio album and the first since But Here We Are (2023). The group begins a European tour in June before a North American run starting August 4 in Toronto. The tour will end on September 26 in Las Vegas, with Queens of the Stone Age and Mannequin Pussy opening for the majority of dates.
