Garbage led by Shirley Manson are preparing to return to Italy for a single Italian date of their latest European tour scheduled for Thursday 25 June 2026 at the Parco della Musica in Milan.
Opening the concert will be the Destroy Boys, one of the most promising bands on the global alternative scene.
Formed in Wisconsin in the 90s, Garbage are one of the most iconic bands on the international alternative rock scene. Their self-titled debut album established them as one of the most sought-after and loved post-grunge and alternative rock bands; in a very short time their unique sound combined with a provocative and visionary aesthetic attracted the attention of media and fans from all over the world. In 1998 their second work Version 2.0 (Almo Sounds) climbed the world charts and earned a nomination for the Grammy Awards in the Album of the Year category.
Let All That We Imagine Be The Light is Garbage's eighth album, born unexpectedly due to Shirley Manson's injury. In August 2024, an old hip injury, dating back to a fall from the stage in 2016, flared up, forcing her to undergo surgery and interrupt her No Gods No Masters world tour. «It seemed like a curse at the time, but I actually think it was a gift. It gave us a completely new perspective” declares the frontwoman.
During her long rehabilitation, Shirley felt vulnerable like never before. While she recovered at home, Butch Vig, Duke Erikson and Steve Marker worked in the studio, sending her “little sonic gifts” to support her. This fragility, new for an energetic and self-confident performer, has entered the lyrics: fewer direct statements, more search for emotions, with a strong sense of mortality and delicacy. If the previous album was aggressive and combative, this album finds its strength in expressing fears and vulnerability. For Shirley, every album could be her last: this is why she addresses essential themes such as life, aging and imminent destruction with tenderness and hope.
The Destroy Boys are one of the most energetic groups in the contemporary punk scene. Born in Sacramento in 2015 from the initiative of Alexia Roditis and Violet Mayugba, they started by publishing demos on Bandcamp before establishing themselves with the album Sorry, Mom, which has become a cult among fans.
