Harry Styles speaks for the first time about what happened in One Direction

Music news

Harry Styles has broken his silence about one of the most decisive stages of his life: the end of One Direction and the beginning of his solo career. In full promotion of his new album, Kiss All The Time. Disco, Occasionally, the British artist has given an interview in which he reflects on those first years away from the band that made him a global star.

In conversation with The Sunday Times, Styles acknowledges that the transition was not easy. “When you're in a band with four other people, there's a lot of room to hide,” he explained, remembering his beginnings with Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Louis Tomlinson and the late Liam Payne. That change in life, he admits, confronted him with an unexpected sensation: “I suddenly felt very alone.”

The musician describes that, after the group split in 2015, he found himself facing a completely new scenario. “The first few times on stage (without One Direction), I thought: 'What do I do with my hands?'” he confessed, laughing. But behind the humor was pressure: “I put a lot of pressure on myself, wanting it to be right.”

Styles also recalled the release of his first solo album, published in 2017. That debut marked the beginning of an artistic search that, according to him, still continues. “With that first album, I was trying to explore what music I would make for myself, but… I didn't want to disappoint people,” he noted.
