HI-TECH: SONY LinkBuds Clip, the clip-on open-ear earphones that redefine Always-On listening

Music news

Sony returns to question the relationship between listening and presence, between sound isolation and permeability to reality, with LinkBuds Clip, a new declination of open-ear wearable audio.

Not a simple technological accessory, but an object that takes a position and becomes a daily companion.

The clip-on design – openly inspired by ear cuffs – avoids the ear canal and hugs the ear with a light and adaptable C-shaped structure. The result is an Always-On experience that allows you to listen without disappearing from the world: traffic, voices, announcements remain perceptible, while the music flows without imposing pressure or fatigue. An ergonomic choice that translates into prolonged comfort and a stable fit, customizable thanks to the removable silicone pads.

Open-ear listening, here, is not a compromise but a precise grammar. The three modes – Standard, Voice Boost and Sound Leakage Reduction – modulate the sound based on the context: full and detailed for music, focused on voices in noisy environments, more discreet in quiet places. It's an idea of situational audio, which adapts rather than imposes itself.

On the sound front, Sony brings its pedigree to the table: DSEE for music upscaling, 360 Reality Audio, 10-band equalizer customizable via Sony app | Sound Connect. Despite the open structure, the sound claims balance and naturalness, a direct result of the experience gained with the 1000X series. Calls also benefit from a sophisticated technological system: bone conduction sensor and AI-based noise reduction provide a clear voice, even in urban chaos.

Designed to accompany you throughout the day, the LinkBuds Clip offer up to 37 hours of battery life, fast charging (3 minutes for an hour of use), IPX4 certification, multipoint connection and intuitive touch controls. Scene-based listening completes the picture, automatically adapting the sound to the environment and activity.

Finally, the aesthetic and environmental dimension is not secondary. Available in greige, black, lavender and green, the LinkBuds Clip focus on widespread customization – cover and accessories included – and on a completely plastic-free package. Approximately 20% of the plastic materials used come from recycling: a concrete gesture that combines design and responsibility.
