Heart tentacles is the new single from IBISCO with MARTA DEL GRANDI. The song is the third preview of the Bolognese singer-songwriter’s next album, expected in November.
After the double single Tuona / Restruire and So bene come ti senti, IBISCO returns with a collaboration that brings together two different vocal sensitivities. For the occasion, MARTA DEL GRANDI, a singer-songwriter accustomed to moving between personal sound coordinates and sophisticated writing, sings in Italian.
Tentacles of the Heart revolves around the search for a gesture capable of interrupting emotional immobility and transforming individual fragilities into opportunities for encounter.
At the center of the song is the search for “that extra gesture”, a sudden shot that breaks the static nature of things to transform our cracks into a point of strength and deep contact with others. Adds Hibiscus. The need to share this track with another sensitivity therefore arose naturally and I immediately thought of Marta: since I discovered her, I have always been struck by her ability to artistically balance maturity and lightness, her voice manages to be magnetic and permeating, in a way that is never an end in itself.
The musical structure follows a 5/4 metric, with an irregular progression that accompanies the instability described by the text. The two voices intertwine until they converge in unison, supported by an eccentric and mobile arrangement, built on balances that eschew the usual rhythm of pop.
MARTA DEL GRANDI says she was struck by the IBISCO universe, a dark but rich in detail imagery.
I got to know Ibisco through his music: I was struck by his dark but at the same time very detailed universe, which doesn’t hide. Marta Del Grandi says. “Tentacles of the Heart” is a piece that I immediately liked for the way it manages to seem simple despite its complexity. Singing it with Filippo was an honor.
The heart of the individual is the possibility of relying on others without erasing one’s own contradictions. The marine images that cross the text convey an emotional movement made up of failures and restarts, in which the encounter becomes a form of resistance to closure. Tentacles of the Heart thus continues the journey towards IBISCO’s new album, entrusting an unprecedented collaboration with the task of exploring the boundary between vulnerability and the desire for contact.
LISTEN TO THE SONG
THE TEXT
In the unrest in the east
over long distances
you heard the multitudes of mary
crowd wars
the squares
the rooms
of the need for clear feelings e
better dogs than gods
over white cars
nine likes
it’s a world of strange feelings and
your most beautiful areas under layers of skin
like walls that have made many many too many floors and
you need something subtle
something that will entertain you
you need something to sip on
something that gets you started again
in the sea of broken souls
who speaks with reflexes
that only wants to take us where its currents reach
because that’s where we are made
to be part of others
to be heavy hearts on the shore of those who know how to look at us
we are the best in ex
between the various versions
at the same latitudes as Gary and Ester
we take off our rings
the shoes
after days of overtime
you discovered love
but it didn’t help you
you changed color
but you didn’t decide that
we are walking somewhere
we are wrong in writing
clear pacts on blu-ray
too many definitions
How do you always carry all those pages with you?
perfect situations
set the table for seven
those moments when we felt so, so grateful and
how difficult it is to truly get clean
do everything and then remember nothing
the horrible days serve to convince oneself
to learn to use counter warnings
the tentacles of the heart
oracles of the world
in the place where we said that
there is a sea of broken souls
who speaks with reflexes
that only wants to take us where its currents reach
because that’s where we are made
to be part of others
to be heavy hearts on the shore of those who know how to look at us
to be less different
to be less different
to be less different
to be less different
to be less different
to be less different
to be less different
to be less different
to be less different
to be less different
