Indie Rocks!: First of all, thank you very much for this moment. What can you tell us about your origin and how it came about? Intimacy Volume 1your most important album so far?

Andrea Vanzo: Intimacy Volume 1 It is, in large part, an autobiographical album. It represents a journey towards my origins and my personal history. Each piece is a small part of me, a portrait of who I am and what I have experienced.

Indie Rocks!: In recent years you have built a very strong connection with your audience, especially through social networks. How did that bond come about?

Andrea Vanzo: When I started, I didn't use the networks much. Everything changed during the pandemic: I started recording music and uploading some videos to instagram. One of them had a very good response, and there I understood that I could connect with people in a different way. Since then, I have built my presence little by little.

Indie Rocks!: This will be your first visit to Mexico. What does it mean to you to come play here?

Andrea Vanzo: I am very happy. It's the first time I've crossed the Atlantic to play in America. Additionally, I have musician friends in Mexico with whom I have collaborated, such as Gibran and Hostelan ambient music artist. So, in some ways, I already feel a special connection.

Indie Rocks!: Your Mexican followers are very active on your networks. What do you expect from your concerts in Mexico City and Guadalajara?

Andrea Vanzo: I have a strong connection with the Mexican public. Many people have been writing to me for a long time asking me to come. I expect a warm and close audience; That's what I want most.

Indie Rocks!: Tell us about Settleritethe show you will present on this tour.

Andrea Vanzo: Settlerite it's a show completely new. I wanted to bring my home to the stage: my living room, the piano, the books, the photos, the lamp… everything. in me instagram there is a reel where you can see the exact reconstruction of the space. I want the audience to feel like they are inside my world. Additionally, there will be a new setlist with unpublished pieces of Intimacy Volume 2.

Indie Rocks!: What can you tell us about your upcoming projects?

Andrea Vanzo: I'm working on a lot of collaborations and writing new pieces every day. There will be several new songs coming soon and a special collaboration coming out next year.

Indie Rocks!: For those who don't know your music yet, what songs do you recommend listening to before the concert?

Andrea Vanzo: I would say “Soulmate”, “Balzaldi Winter” —which will be part of Intimacy Volume 2– and “Dreaming to Fly” or “The Midland”, from the same album. They are a good way to start this sonic journey.

Indie Rocks!: Will you have time to get to know a little about Mexico during the tour?

Andrea Vanzo: I would love to, but I don't think it's possible. The trip will be very short and I have another date in Guadalajara, so it will be an intense visit.

Indie Rocks!: If you had to describe your music in three words, which ones would you choose?

Andrea Vanzo: Intimate, nostalgic and for those who know how to listen calmly.

Indie Rocks!: Anything you want to add before closing this interview?

Andrea Vanzo: I am very excited about this one showbecause it is a very personal part of me. It is the first time that I show something so intimate outside of Europe, and I am glad that it is in Mexico. I hope to find people willing to feel and listen with me.
