Interviews

A passion that found its sound.

Isabella Lovestory woke up one morning, shortly after the release of his most recent album, Vanityto take this interview. “I have two kittens that are a month old, so I'm rubbing them and happy to be here with you having coffee,” he said in a kind voice. From the previous greeting, it was possible to perceive that his music is as authentic as his personality. In this interview for Indie Rocks!, Isabella Lovestory He talked about love, the Internet and music.

Horoscopes say that Sagittarians are very sociable and extroverted, that they love to live adventures and that it is impossible to get bored with them. Isabella Lovestorylike a good Sagittarius, confirms the description.

Her personal story is that of an immigrant who decided to challenge the norms, sing, dance and create. Isabella He left his home country, Honduras, when he was a teenager and began living in different cities. He had several jobs, including conventional ones in restaurant chains. Later she studied art and found in music the most faithful way to represent herself.

Remembering his parents in those times, Isabella mentions. “Being immigrants, they were also like, why aren't you a doctor? Why aren't you something normal?” But not, Isabella It couldn't be “normal.” Isabella He could only become the musical sheep of his family, even though no one in it had the same profession. Because Isabella It is forceful, challenging and creative. “I get very excited making music because it's a mystery to me.”

As a result of the challenges that destiny prepared for him, Isabella made its way into the DIY (Do It Yourself). “I always have to try to find a solution for how something is going to be expressed, because being DIY I will always be DIYI mean, that's how I started, creating this person from nothing, from scratch.”

The name Lovestory in Isabella It's not a coincidence. “I have always been in love since the beginning of my life. I have always been super romantic in my head, but what interests me most is the tragedy of love and that duplicity that everything in life has of the beautiful and the horrible and that contrast between the extremes of feelings, and I have always liked love movies that end in tragedy.”

For this reason, the songs on their new album, Vanitythey take refuge in old classic romance films and find their visual aesthetics in the hot pink pink. TO Isabella He loves that each song and each album has its own identity.

Among a sea of places to be inspired, Isabella Lovestory It resorts to the simplest of the human essence: the spaces that can connect it with nature. Like walks, “being on the beach, seeing animals… it's very important that we get off the Internet because it's too much and I feel that when you start seeing so many images, you start trying to be like them.”

Although social networks are allies in the dissemination of their music, Isabella points out that this is also the origin of the lack of originality of some talents. “Maybe it's a problem with artists now, that they don't draw inspiration from their own universe or their own intuition and start doing things to belong to what they're seeing. I feel like there's a problem, really, that all people are seeing themselves as the same thing.”

Regarding the Internet, Isabella mentions. “Every day I think, when is it going to end TikTok? When is the Internet going to go down so we can be more interesting artists? But I don't know, because I (also) love the Internet. Without the Internet I couldn't be here being a pop star“.

In its purest essence, Isabella Lovestory she captures a piece of herself in each song. Now he is at home, drinking coffee with his partner and his little cat, touring in concerts and producing independently. However, tomorrow it could be in your ears, lighting up your days and accompanying you at every party.

Vanity It is now available everywhere and coming soon Isabella Lovestory will announce shows important. “Listen to my music, listen to my album, discover me. I promise you that at least you will be entertained. And wait for me, because I am going to make some shows They haven't announced them, but I'm going to arrive, I think, in November for my birthday and we're going to have a great time. I promise you that I will make a show super sexybut also interesting and full of all the colors of the world.”
