It has taken over a year for him to release his first solo single outside of the OT academy, swimmer, but Martin Urrutia is not one of those who works in a hurry. After leaving the most famous musical talent in Spain, he decided to bet on his career as an actor, starring in the series Mariliendre: Atresmedia's musical fiction that has served as a presentation in the entertainment industry. A complete success, considering that the series, produced by Los Javis, has become one of the LGTBIQ+ phenomena of the year. He launched a collaboration with Juanjo Bona, The flasha gift for his followers who witnessed the beginnings of their relationship.
Now, a year and a half later, Martin is now ready to walk (or rather swim) in the music industry. Nadadora is the first preview of her debut album: an LP that is simmering with Hydrogenesse beside.
To tell us all the details about his first album, take stock of a year full of work and answer all the questions about his music, Martin arrives at the WECB studios.

Why a cover of Nadadora, a Family song, as the first single?
The truth is that I was a little undecided about my repertoire. I didn't know which songs to work on first. There is a moment when you are making an album in which you have a lot of songs and you don't know what order you want to put them in. I'm learning. In a moment of mental chaos I had an appearance and I remembered the moment last year at BBK Live singing Nadadora. I thought you could make a cool version. I thought it could be the first thing to release before my original repertoire. I proposed it and they saw it.

How did you discover Family?
Well, I discovered them on the recommendation of some friends. From Marco (FrÃas) from The Good Son. I listened to the only album they have and chose Nadadora. I thought it was the one that could shine the most with my voice and such and we covered it. People really liked it at the BBK concert. Many people didn't know her and began to associate her with me. So now that a year has passed I saw the time to pay tribute to him.
For Nadadora you have had El Buen Hijo and Hidrogenesse for the production, how did it happen?
Well, The Good Son is that they accompanied me at the concert I did for the BBK and we thought it was very cool that they recorded the instruments. And the Hidrogenesse production came up with the idea after working with them on El Destello. They are friends and I thought they could do something nice.
Are you going to count on Hidrogenesse for the album?
Yes, the truth is that they are going to be very present in the production of the album and I am really excited. And it is an honor, really.
Are there more covers of songs on your first album?
No, Nadadora is going to be the only version. I felt that it was going to be like that and I wanted to launch it. Now my original repertoire begins. And there will be a little bit of everything. I think it's a cool album that has everything: ballads, more upbeat songs and yes, it's going to have that nostalgic tone that I like. Very personal, but happy.

What percentage would the disk be at?
It is under construction. Adding ideas, concept and repertoire… I would say 45%. But there will be more singles until the end of the year. And the album is planned for early 2026.
It is true that with the songs you are releasing and the groups you are counting on to create your album, you could be entering the indie pop field.
Yes, the truth is that yes. It's indie pop. I identify with that quite a bit. I like it. The mainstream has not been my main goal. If there is a hit, great and it is incredible, but I do give a lot of value to doing something different. I go more there. Let's see if people like it.
It's true that your career (making series, closer to indie pop) may remind you a little of Amaia's, who is also a person you admire.
Yes, the truth is that he is a benchmark when leaving Operación Triunfo and look at everything he is achieving. Yes, it is a reference for me. She has also worked with the Javis as an actress. Yes, I have it very much in mind. His path inspires me a lot to do it my own way.

What did you think when you met her?
Well, the truth is magnificent. It's super natural and reminds me a lot of my friends from Bilbo. The way he talks and everything.
Do you see a collaboration with her?
I haven't asked him. I'm just starting out and I want to find my little field of music. And then I would really like to collaborate with artists, to be honest. It would be a dream to do something with Amaia.
Do you have collaborations planned for the album?
The truth is that not right now. There is no song designed for it. But I would love to.
Was there pressure to release music when your fans have been interested in it for a year?
Yes, there was, really. Yes, I have felt a lot of waiting and a lot of desire for me to release music. With Nadadora I have seen a very good reception and there is a desire for me to release more songs and that motivates me a lot. It's been great with Mariliendre and now I'm seeing the opportunity to make music.
And what mood are you in more, as an actor or as a singer?
Well now I'm more of a singer, really. When I was with Mariliendre I was more of an actor, with the festivals and such. But now that the Mariliendre moment has ended, I already feel at a different point.

And have more things come to you as an actor after Mariliendre?
Well yes, I have done quite a few castings, to be honest. I have done quite a few tests. There has been some project out there. But now it's time for music. In my head I see the path clearly: the OT moment, the Mariliendre moment and now it is the moment for my album.
It has been the OT moment, the Mariliendre moment and now it is my album.
It is true that you are an example for the next generations of OT that there are other paths besides music.
Yes, OT is a showcase for artists. My advice for the next edition is that, do what you like and what you want to show because you already have the exhibition. And the artistic quality also because there have been castings. You don't want to make single after single, you don't want to perform or anything else. Let them follow their instinct.
Juanjo is now on Masterchef Celebrity, is he cooking a lot at home?
I'm having luck. Every day he gets more creative and makes some mixes. I help him a lot and it's incredible. What many people dream of: having someone who cooks very well.
Do you see yourself in any program of that type?
Well, something like Your face sounds familiar to me. I didn't see it clearly either, but after going as a guest with Yenesi I have seen that it is super fun. It is becoming another person and interpreting. I find it super interesting.
After a year and a half away from OT, are people less interested in your personal life?
Yes, it is noticeable. In the end when you leave the program there are many people revolutionized because you have been exposed on TV. They see you and they are crazy. Time passes and it calms down, as in all editions I believe. And it's been more than a year now and I think the exposure has gone down. Before, it was uploading a story and people would appear, no matter what time it was. That doesn't happen anymore, thank goodness.
OT returns in September, are you looking forward to it?
Yes, many, really. I have lived the castings far away, but I am looking forward to them. To go visit, to give them advice and to live it. Because I have been a big fan before going.
