Interview with Rodrigo and Gabriela

Interviews

Our Home is here.

After more than two decades making two guitars their own language, Rodrigo and Gabriela They return to the essentials. Our Hometheir most recent material, is an encounter with reality that forces you to stop and remember who you are when everything else stops mattering. After the closing of In Between Thoughts and Your World and an attempt to imagine their next step from a much larger band, the Mexican duo understood that the answer was, paradoxically, in returning home.

The death of Pelusa, the cat that accompanied Rodrigo and Gabriela in his studio, it was the trigger for a new creative stage. On this new album, Rodrigo and Gabriela They explore the possibilities of the acoustic world from an intimate and deeply personal place. Each arrangement was designed to be sustained solely between the two, recovering a language that they have spent more than 20 years building and taking to new territories.

Before starting a new tour through the United States, Japan, Australia and Europe, we spoke with Rodrigo and Gabriela about returning to his roots, the challenge of turning two guitars into a full band again, and the question that runs through everything Our Home: what makes you you?
