Jessie Ware raises the temperature even further with the video of Sauna, fourth single from his sixth studio album, released last April.
The song, one of the two episodes of the album produced by Karma Kid and Stuart Price, finds an almost cinematic dimension in the new video clip. The photographer Jordan Rossi is directing, transforming an elevator into a surreal Turkish bath: the space progressively opens up to the party, until it becomes a dance floor.
Ware is surrounded by a small crowd of guests, including husband Sam Burrows and emerging pop star Tsatsamis, in a video that brings the sensual, nocturnal aesthetic of “Superbloom” into an environment suspended between glamour, club culture and visual humor.
With “Sauna”, Jessie Ware continues to work on that border area where disco, pop and theatricality coexist without the need to choose a single identity.
The video amplifies its more physical component: the heat of the title becomes matter, movement and spectacle.
