JILL SCOTT “Pressha” the new song and in February the album “To Whom This May Concern”

Music news

Jill Scott returns to be heard with Presshanew single that anticipates “To Whom This May Concern”, sixth studio album expected for February 13th.

Scott releases the album in total autonomy through his Blues Babe label, claiming creative control and authorial vision.

Co-produced by Scott herself together with Vincent “VT” Tolan and Adam Blackstone for BASSic Black Entertainment, “Pressha” moves on jazzy coordinates, supported by a double bass line, live horns and wide margins of improvisation. A warm and mobile sound system that accompanies a lucid text on social pressures – aesthetic standards, status, expectations – filtered through the story of a romantic relationship that is born, deforms and finally dissolves.

To Whom This May Concern marks Jill Scott's first real album after years of recording silence: 19 tracks that promise a broad and layered fresco, enriched by a roster of transversal guests such as Ab-Soul, JID, Tierra Whack and Too $hort. The production features names that tell different but compatible worlds: DJ Premier, Om'Mas Keith, Andre Harris, Trombone Shorty, Camper, Seige Montracity, Eric Wortham and DW Wright, in addition to the team already involved in “Pressha”.

The single follows “Beautiful People”, the first extract from the album.
