Music news

This is their first album with all-new music in over four years.

Jose Gonzalezthe talented singer-songwriter and guitarist, has broken his silence and announced his fifth studio album. Is called Against The Dying Of The Light and we can hear it on Friday, March 27, thanks to Mute Records.

Against The Dying Of The Light is a collection of songs that reflect on humanity.Who we are: Tribes of sentient apes with sometimes incompatible histories and tools that could eventually lead to dystopia or extinction. “It's also a reflection of how we create obstacles to human flourishing by stubbornly clinging to dogmatic ideologies, where people follow guys who pretend to know things they don't,” the musician said in a press release.

To celebrate the announcement, the musician from Gothenburg gave us a preview: he premiered the main song, “Against The Dying Of The Light”together with its official video clip. The audiovisual material was directed by Fredrik Egerstranda filmmaker who manages to perfectly capture the introspective atmosphere so distinctive of the music of José.

The new single not only gives us an idea of the mood of the album, but also confirms that Gonzalez He remains a master creating music that touches your soul. We hope that the album delves into topics such as the human condition, philosophy and the beauty of melancholy, maintaining that minimalist and artisanal sound that has been its hallmark.
