Music news

The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame has announced the artists inducted into the 2026 list: Oasis, Phil Collins, Wu-Tang Clan, Joy Division/New Order, Sade, Iron Maiden, Billy Idol and Luther Vandross.

The induction ceremony will be held November 14 in Los Angeles, with an expected broadcast in December on ABC and Disney+.

Among the names selected, Wu-Tang Clan and Luther Vandross enter the first year of candidacy. The other artists had already been nominated previously, with Oasis, Iron Maiden and Joy Division/New Order making it to the selection after multiple attempts.

Several notable candidates are left out, including Mariah Carey, Jeff Buckley, Lauryn Hill, The Black Crowes, Shakira and P!nk.

As for the special awards, the Early Influence Award will be awarded to Fela Kuti, Queen Latifah, MC Lyte and Gram Parsons. The Musical Excellence Award will go to, among others, Rick Rubin, while the Ahmet Ertegun Award will be awarded posthumously to Ed Sullivan.

The class of 2026 follows that of 2025, which featured Cyndi Lauper, Outkast, Salt-N-Pepa and The White Stripes.

Among those eligible for the first time in 2026, The Strokes and Yeah Yeah Yeahs did not earn nominations.
