Miley Cyrus celebrates the 20th anniversary of Hannah Montana with a moving new song, “Younger You”, whose clip combines vintage images and moments from the anniversary special broadcast on Disney+.
Miley Cyrus gave her fans a new Hannah Montana song, titled “Younger You”. The singer unveiled the title in preview during the Hannah Montana 20th Anniversary Specialstreaming on Disney+ this week.
In an Instagram post shared on Thursday, accompanying the track's release, Cyrus wrote: “The younger version of me loved celebrating 20 years of Hannah Montana with you. This song is yours, as a thank you for this life we have gone through together. I love you forever. »
The clip alternates between footage of Cyrus driving through Hollywood and scenes from the anniversary special, interspersed with flashbacks from the film Hannah Montana from 2009. We notably see the star carrying her iconic pink makeup case from the film, while she performs the chorus: “Somewhere along the way, we lost sight of each other / We were so happy, just like that / I know you had to leave one day / But don't forget me. »
The song ends on a particularly moving note, with both the young and adult versions of Cyrus walking away from the camera as she sings, “I know your story isn't over, but do you love who you've become?” »
