“New Beginnings”, the new release from Yard Act

Music news

The song is the second preview of his next album.

After the announcement of the release of his next album titled You're Gonna Need a Little Music, Yard Act presented “New Beginnings”the second official preview of the album, which will be released on July 17, 2026. With this single, the group shows a different theme compared to “Redeemer”the first song released to promote the album.

With “New Beginnings”the group originally from Leeds presents a track with a marked post punk sound, whose lyrics capture a cycle of social and personal wear and tear with a critical and sarcastic tone. The theme works as a mockery of the social decay caused by the hostility of the environment, but accompanied by a much more energetic rhythm compared to “Redeemer”which featured a darker, edgier sound.

According to the vocalist James Smiththis new song functions as a kind of emotional counterweight within this new creative stage, in which the band explores different states of mind and more open perspectives on personal change. With this new song, the group presents a renewed essence, where it balances criticism with more contagious rhythms without losing the seal that characterizes it.

With “New Beginnings”the project shows that it is committed to a more reflective tone about life changes; In addition, it works as a glimpse that the group is preparing more diverse material both sonically and lyrically.
