Olivia Rodrigo joins David Byrne in a new version of “drivers license”

Five years after its launch, Olivia Rodrigo commemorates the anniversary of his three-time multi-platinum hit single GRAMMY, “drivers license”with the release of a series of special versions through Geffen Records.

On January 9, 2021, the song debuted at number 1 on the Billboard Hot 100converting to Rodrigo (then 17 years old) the youngest artist to achieve this with her debut, a record she still holds. The song established itself as a generational anthem for its vulnerability about adolescent heartbreak.

The celebration includes a surprising performance of David Byrnethe legendary co-founder of Talking Heads. This new version, along with the original, is now available on digital platforms. The collaboration between pop superstar actual and the pioneer of art rock/new wave subraya the cultural and lasting impact of “drivers license”.
