OutKast is inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame
OutKast have been inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame 2025 in the performers category, becoming the first rap group from the South to enter the Hall of Fame in the “performers” category.
The Atlanta rap duo was recognized by Childish Gambino on Saturday night (November 8) at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles.
“Your influence resonates in everything, in every artist I love,” Gambino said before presenting André 3000 and Big Boi with the prestigious award. “Atlanta wouldn't be the music mecca it has become without you. Tonight we honor two visionaries who turned differences into a dynasty. You have not simply represented the South, but you have redefined its imagery”.
Before going on stage, Big Boi and André 3000 played rock-paper-scissors to decide who would speak first.
André 3000 shared exciting memories from the early days in the small studios of Atlanta, particularly in “The Dungeon”, the duo's creative starting point.
During the evening there was a musical tribute full of guests: Doja Cat performed “Ms. Jackson,” Tyler, the Creator performed “BOB (Bombs Over Baghdad)” And Killer Mike closed the tribute with his verse on “The Whole World”.
