The long-awaited single Paul McCartney, “Days We Left Behind”marks his first unreleased material since McCartney III (2020) and is the centerpiece of the upcoming album, The Boys of Dungeon Lanewhich will be available on May 29 via MPL/Capitol Records.
McCartney describe “Days We Left Behind” as “very nostalgic”, a feeling that defines the concept of the album, whose full title comes from a line of the lyrics. Reflecting on whether his art focuses too much on the past, he concludes that this immersion in memory is essential. The album is a journey into his memories of his youth in Liverpool, including John Lennon and places like Forthlin Road and Speke.
