Review: EROS RAMAZZOTTI – “Una Storia Importante” / “Una Historia Importante”

EROS-RAMAZZOTTI-Una-Storia-Importante-Una-Historia-Importante-album-2025.

Eros Ramazzotti carries out a lucid recording operation and no longer has to convince anyone.

His name is now engraved in the geography of Italian music, with an echo that has transcended borders and decades. With “Una Storia Importante / Una Historia Importante”, the artist wanted to celebrate his career and give a big gift to his fans.

The album alternates moments of consolidated lyricism with openings towards international sounds. Among the unpublished, Party / Fiesta, Tomorrow / Morning and 5 seconds / 5 segundos confirm the style that made Ramazzotti recognizable, while the already published My favorite day / Mi día preferido, attempts to combine nostalgic melody with touches of modernity without falling into banality.

The album shines and exalts in collaborations. Good luck, written with Elisa, finds a balance between lyricism and refined pop, while the writing shared with Jovanotti in My way / Adventure returns the energy of the most vital Italian songwriting. Like in the movies, with Max Pezzali, moves between memories and friendship, evoking a time when Italian music was both intimate and spectacular.

The dialogue between generations is a common thread: Ultimo in An emotion forever and Giorgia in How much love are you / Cuanto amor me das demonstrate how Ramazzotti still knows how to weave genuine connections, while the collaboration with Andrea Bocelli offers a moment of authentic intensity, far from the gala clamor.

There is no shortage of international forays that broaden the spectrum of the album: The Aurora / The Aurorareinterpreted with Alicia Keys, transforms one of the most precious pieces of the repertoire into an authentic dialogue between two generations of performers. Other like youwith Carín León, e Fire in the firewith Lali, confirm Ramazzotti's propensity to engage with contemporary Latin pop without giving up his own identity. The Spanish version of An emotion for alwaysentrusted to Kany García, adds further nuances of depth and international recognisability.

The result is a coherent album, without leaps into the void, risky experiments or lapses in style: solid, calibrated, nostalgic, but not essential.

Those who loved his repertoire will find their expectations confirmed; those who have always snubbed him will probably remain distant.

A work that deserves attention, for the pleasure of those who want to rediscover a fragment of the history of Italian pop music that still vibrates in Ramazzotti's melodies.
