Rosalia returns to occupy the center of public debate after joining an artistic initiative for solidarity purposes linked to the humanitarian crisis in Palestine and Sudan. The Catalan singer participates in a project led by Mustafa, a Canadian musician of Sudanese origin, who has brought together prominent figures from the international cultural scene to give voice, through poetry, to the people affected by both conflicts.
The initiative materializes in a video broadcast on social networks in which different personalities recite fragments of a poem constructed from verses written by deceased Palestinian and Sudanese poets. The objective is twofold: on the one hand, to pay tribute to authors whose lives were cut short by violence and, on the other, to amplify a message of denunciation and solidarity on a global scale, taking advantage of the media reach of the participants.
Among the faces that appear in the recording are top-level performers and artists, such as actors Mark Ruffalo, Bill Skarsgård and Jeremy Allen White, the pilot Lewis Hamilton and the musicians Shawn Mendes and Rosalía. In the case of the Spanish artist, her involvement is also understood from a professional level, since she has previously collaborated with Mustafa on two songs included on the album Dunya. The dissemination of the video by some of the participants themselves, such as Shawn Mendes in his official profile instagramhas served to deny the speculations that circulated on networks about a possible use of artificial intelligence.

Mustafa explains that the recited text is a patchwork quilta poetic composition made exclusively from other people's verses. The poem It was built together with the poet Safia Elhillo and uses fragments of works by Sudanese and Palestinian authors, many of them murdered prematurely. The piece also has musical accompaniment by the British composer Blood Orange, which reinforces the solemn and reflective tone of the ensemble.
Rosalía's verse
Rosalía appears in the first bars of the video and recites the following verses, which remain faithful to the original work:
“I never left my homeland:
the land of supreme beauty.
I'm from there. I'm from here.
I'm not there and I'm not here”

Beyond the symbolic gesture, the project has a practical aspect. Mustafa invites you to visit the Artistsforaid.org platform, from which donations are channeled to humanitarian organizations working on the ground. Specifically, the funds raised are distributed equally between Palestine Children's Relief Fund and Sudanese American Physicians Association. Additionally, the initiative includes the celebration of a benefit concert on January 10, with performances by Clairo, Omar Apollo and Shawn Mendes, and presented by Bella Hadid and Pedro Pascal.
Rosalía's position
Rosalía's participation in this video comes months after the singer broke her silence about Palestine after receiving criticism for not having spoken out publicly. In that message, broadcast in July 2025, the artist made it clear that his lack of statements previous ones did not imply a lack of empathy or condemnation of violenceand stressed that pressure and reproaches among equals are not, in his opinion, the most effective way to advance towards justice and freedom for the Palestinian people.
